Dr. Aaron Esmaili

Biography

Dr Aaron Esmaili holds both general and specialist registration in Australia and prior to coming to Canada completed ten years of clinical practice, including eight years in adult and paediatric ENT departments across Western Australia. He was selected into the highly competitive Royal Australasian College of Surgeon (RACS) Surgical education Training (SET) training program in 2019 and between 2019 and 2023, he undertook dedicated specialty training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (ASOHNS). Following this, he spent a year as a consultant in a high-volume head and neck unit, gaining extensive experience in complex surgical care.

Dr. Esmaili was subsequently selected through the North American match for the University of Alberta Rhinology and Skull Base Fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Wright. He relocated from Perth with his wife and their two young children to undertake this high-volume clinical fellowship and credits his wife’s unwavering support as central to making this journey possible.

During his fellowship, he gained high-volume clinical experience in rhinology and skull base surgery, while also dedicating significant time to septorhinoplasty. Uniquely, he also worked closely with Dr. Seikaly and his head and neck oncology team, where he maintained and advanced his experience in major head and neck surgery and open anterior skull base procedures, complementing his rhinology training.

Dr. Esmaili is passionate about combining technical excellence with thoughtful, patient-centred care, and values a collaborative approach to complex surgical management. His unique training trajectory provides a broad and integrated perspective across adult and paediatric ENT, rhinology, skull base surgery, and head and neck surgery.

Proud of the breadth of his clinical experience, Dr. Aaron Esmaili looks forward to returning home to Perth, Western Australia, to contribute to his community.
